What our guests say....
|Location, location, location. We have just spent 12 days in Elaine's truly Parisian apartment. Where artists work away in their
studios below, where you can walk two minutes up the hill to get your fresh baguettes, where your nearest mini-mart is the grocers
from the film "Amelie". Only five minutes walk to "Amelie's" café.
Probably a hundred cafés and bars within easy walking distance.
Have fun. - Dave, Jan & Martin. Cyprus. August 2007
This place is fantastically home from home. If you are looking for a wonderfully relaxing time in a flat with a warm feel and windows
that let you sit and watch Parisian life pass by your open French windows, then this is definitely the apartment for you. We had the
warmest of welcomes from Elaine and the hand produced guidebook left in the apartment took all the stress out of finding the local
amenities. This flat is a wonderful bolt hole from the city life and its location could not be better for exploring the city. It was the first
time that we had stayed in Paris and truly felt like we belonged. We will definitely be back and next time we’re bringing friends. -
Amara, London. June 2007
L'appartement est très confortable, nous avons beaucoup aimé! Ce quartier est très beau. Nous avons eu un très bon séjour.
Merci. - famille Pradal, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. December 2006

We spent such a wonderful week in Paris. We walked to the galleries and cafes every morning, returning in the evening 'back
home' up the hill to our flat in Montmartre. It was always so welcoming, so comfortable and perfectly placed away from the rush of
Paris traffic. In the evenings, after a meal, we wandered out and enjoyed the view across Paris. The old streets nearby and their
atmosphere will always be for me, the real Paris. We are both vegetarians and we survived(!), buying all we needed in the small
shops down the hill, always fresh and always fantastic quality. Once we get a chance to return to Paris, we wouldn't want be
anywhere else but Romantic Montmartre. - Sue and Mick, London. October, 2007
Dear Elaine, Spending 10 days in your apartment in Paris made us feel like Parisians! We loved it. From the bells of Sacré Coeur
to the "secret" gardens in back, from happy people strolling up and down Rue Lepic to that beautiful Linden tree across the street
- it all added to a wonderful experience. Merci beaucoup! - Elke and David L., Portland, Oregon, USA. June 2008
We had a lovely time at Elaine's apartment, right in the heart of Montmartre. Although it's only a stone's throw from Place de Tertre
and a 2 minute walk from Sacre Coeur, there are no tourists and it's very quiet. The Metro station is only a five minute walk away
and the sight from Sacre Coeur over Paris is breathtaking!
The apartment itself is very comfortable and cosy. There's WiFi, a DVD Player with a lot of movies and a very comprehensive
"Guide to Paris" from Elaine herself, with lots of helpful information.
I can recommend this location with good conscience! - Lothar, Munich, Germany. August 2008
This was our second stay in this great apartment - and also our honeymoon! The flat has everything we need, the
location is ideal, and we were made to feel very welcome. We're sure we will return very soon.

Consigliatissimo. Grazie Elaine! - Claudia & Carlo, Siena, Italy, October 2009
We had a fantastic stay in our apartment in Montmartre, our favourite part of Paris with its village within a city atmosphere. The
apartment itself has a fabulous location near to shops, Metro and tourist attractions. A comfortable home from home with a
thoughtfully equipped kitchen, in which we enjoyed preparing meals with locally bought produce on the occasions we were not
having a meal at one of the many local bars and restaurants - we will be back soon! - Dove & Co., Lewes, UK. April 2010
It was very lovely holiday for us. Apartment location is very good. There were 4 of us (3 adults and 1 child) and the apartment was
spacious enough. It is cosy and personal. Lots of books and small details that add delicate touch to the apartment. Overall very
positive experience. Thank you Elaine. - Dmitry, St Petersburg, Russia. August 2010.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful apartment with us. It was just so perfect! We really enjoyed the openness and how
bright it was and fresh it felt, not to mention the perfect location! - Sita & Dan, India. June 2014
We spent the week before Christmas in Elaine's appartment and it is really romantic! 2 minutes walk from the Sacre Cœur, with
many little restaurants and shops in the area and a metro station close by. The appartment is lovely and well equipped and Elaine
a caring host! Highly recommended! - Carina, Italia. December 2011
Our decision to 'base' up the hill in Montmartre paid off due to Elaine's amazing apartment. While we brought back so many
memories of Paris, our best are from the apartment in Montmartre. The windows were what you would dream for in a Parisian
apartment. And there was plenty of space for the three of us. - Craig, Illinois, USA, June 2011
Great apartment in a great location. Although close to the tourist trail the apartment is quiet. Wifi signal is good. Decor is tasteful
and comfortable. A warm welcome from Elaine after a long flight. - Anne, Rozelle, Australia. May 2012
Merci beaucoup, Elaine! We had a fantastic vacation in Paris. We loved the apartment. Montmartre is an amazing place. The food
is delicious, the people are friendly and we are certainly coming back and will make recommendations to our friends and family.
Most helpful were the details you included in the guide for guests. Having an apartment is the way to go. No more hotels for us...
Thank you again and again. - Jeanine & Richard, Chicago, USA. December 2013
We really enjoyed staying in the apartment - it was so nice to have such a lovely base to come back to after an exhausting day
sightseeing. Must say that the sofa bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept on - and boy I did sleep well! Thank you too
for all the welcoming touches and the helpful information left out for guests - very useful and much appreciated. - Rosemary, Cheryl &
Ross, Australia/UK. February 2014
A well-equipped and comfortable flat in a delightful location. Particularly appreciated the wi-fi and free landline calls. Lots of CDs,
DVDs and books available in addition to TV. Kitchen and bathroom are cosy but functional - space at a premium in Paris! Very
near some good local restaurants (not necessarily the priciest- take care) and only short walks to Sacre Coeur and to the nearest
metro. Elaine is welcoming and helpful, knowing Paris and Monmartre well. Her guide book for guests - both to the flat and Paris -
is comprehensive. This flat is a little gem and an excellent and peaceful base for exploring Paris. Many thanks Elaine. - Andy, UK,
This apartment was exactly what I had been hoping for - it was Parisienne in every sense. Rue Lepic is a great location, just a stroll
to the many cafes/restaurants/shops and a four minute walk to the Metro. While I was there the temperature sometimes reached
40 degrees but the apartment was amazingly cool, I slept soundly with the bedroom window open (very safe). On arrival home,
from the many sightseeing trips, I would open the windows in the kitchen and lounge to let the air flow through and the place was
cool within minutes. I was surprised to discover that I could watch the fireworks, on Bastille Night, from the bedroom window. Not
the full gamut but enough to keep me mesmerised. The apartment is comfortable and adequately supplied. I just had the most
amazing time here and would return without hesitation. Elaine was exceptionally quick at responding to any queries I had such as
which train to take where and so on and also had a few suggestions that only a local would know about. I hope you get to stay at
this little treasure in Montmartre!! - Annie Mac, NSW, Australia, June 2015
Romantic Montmartre is an excellent choice for a couple in the romantic neighborhood of Montmartre in Paris. If you like to be in a
neighborhood that still feels like the era of early 20th century artists (Renoir, Picasso, Dali, Utrillo, Corot, etc.) who lived and
painted here, this is your place. But also there are shops down the street for groceries, a sidewalk bistro or takeout food. The
apartment is exactly as shown in the photos. Lots of light in the living room. Elaine is superb to work with. We arrived with a crisis –
like lost wallet!!! Elaine worked with us for over two hours to make necessary reports, cancellations, replacements, etc. She went
way beyond the call of duty. Highly recommended. Foster & Judy, Kansas City, USA. July 2016
